FirmDecisions doubles China team amid rising demand for transparency and media accountability

Shanghai, China, 29th May 2025

FirmDecisions, Ebiquity Plc’s global leader in media contract compliance auditing, has more than doubled the size of its China team to meet surging demand from advertisers seeking greater transparency in one of the world’s most complex media markets.

FirmDecisions’ growth over the past six months has been fueled by a wave of new clients and increased interest from global advertisers expanding audit coverage into China.

“This isn’t just about new business. It reflects urgent client need,” said Jocelyn Wang, Managing Director, FirmDecisions China. “Advertisers are becoming more aware of the risks in China’s media landscape, particularly following recent industry scandals.”

Two drivers are behind the growth:

  • Stronger Risk Awareness – Education campaigns by FirmDecisions and Ebiquity have helped global advertisers better understand China’s media risks.
  • Industry Scandals – The recent bribery scandal involving some group agencies has intensified scrutiny and accelerated demand for independent audits.

The company has made several strategic hires to meet demand, including senior talent from major agency networks. New team members Joan Lu (Client Partner), Laura Zhou (Audit Director), and Lillian Li (Auditor) bring a wealth of experience from leading firms such as KPMG, GroupM, Omnicom, and Dentsu.

Dale Garvie, Regional Managing Director, commented: “This expansion cements our position as China’s leading marketing compliance audit firm. We have the scale and local expertise on the ground to support both local and multinational advertisers to drive transparency in this highly complex market.”
